Making A Deer Legbone Knife Class
First Come - First Serve, Sign Up
The class is limited to 10 students. Please sign up and attend; if a condition comes up, please call to drop out. A waiver will need to be signed. We would love you to join Outdoor Skills of America, Inc. The Contact for the class is Jerry Bryant, 816-419-0658.
MDC Hunter Ed Skills Class
Class open to 30 students; must sign up at Missouri Department of Conservation Website. At Lake City Shooting Range at 285055 E Truman Rd Buckner, Missouri.
To register for this class, you must be a MINIMUM of ELEVEN YEARS OF AGE. The name of the registrant must be the name of the STUDENT, not the parent's name. Prior to the date of the class, you must have completed the chapter review questions in the student Hunter Education manual (free of charge from MDC)and bring that manual or completed the online knowledge program and bring proof of completion to the class. Parents are invited to attend, but this is not mandatory. If you have any questions, call the Burr Oak Woods office at (816) 228-3766.
Wildlife Identification Class
This event has been canceled. Watch for other classes in the future

Bark Tanning Class
Bark and brain tanning will be covered. The process will be discussed on both methods.
Hunter Education Class Skills Portion
Class will be held at Lake City Shooting Range, Buckner MO. That is on FF or Truman Rd across from Lake City Ammunition Plant; the shooting range has a building where we will be.
If the knowledge session was taken online and you passed the test, we need to see the certification that was given. If you studied the book and have filled out ALL the review questions, bring that book with you. This must be done before the skills portion is taken! You must be 11 years of age.

This class will be held at the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, MO

We are teaming up with Jesze Dolah at Thousand Hills State Park, Kirksville, MO for some fishing fun! All ages are welcome; children under 16 must have an adult. All equipment and bait will be supplied.

Learning to Flintknapp
This event is open to 10 participants. This is a FREE two day class, this is part one. The second day will be established by participants. You must be 15 years old or older. Bring a pair of comfortable leather gloves and eye protection.

Pollinators for Kids
Learn about pollinators and get the chance to bee a pollinator and “pollinate” flowers to see how our pollinators help our plants and ecosystem.

We are going to be showcasing some of Missouri’s Mammals with furs/hides, their tracks, and the sounds they make. Come and feel some of the mammals furs! They may be softer or courser than you think!

TURKEY WINGBONE CLINIC
Turkey Wingbone call clinic
Here is your opportunity to make a turkey wingbone call from raw bone to final product. This clinic is open to 10 individuals ; all materials and tools for making the wingbone call will be provided. Registered participants will be asked to bring safety glasses,
work gloves, and wear comfortable work clothes. The program will be held from 8 AM –noon on June 15, 2024 at 1443 Highway TT. , MO 64011. Lead instructor will be Mike Mansel.ca.

"Sunrise Reflection" Painting on the Lake
Art is a wonderful way to connect ourselves to nature. Learn how to paint a sunrise on the lake with staff and volunteers. Supplies will be provided. You may bring your own supplies if you prefer.
